Chief Sealth International High School PTSA Scholarship Fund

We’re very excited to announce that in spring of 2024, Chief Sealth International High School (CSIHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will award a $1,000 scholarship each to up to five graduating seniors planning to attend a College, University, or Technical or Vocational Program. Seniors graduating in 2024 with a GPA of 2.0 or higher are eligible to apply for this award.

At Chief Sealth International High School, we’re committed to not only providing the best possible education and learning opportunities for our students but also equipping our students for a successful future beyond high school. We believe every student deserves access to the resources and support they need to succeed, regardless of their background or financial situation. The PTSA Scholarship Fund was created to help students reach this goal.

PTSA Scholarship FAQs

  1. What is a scholarship? A scholarship is free money! It’s a financial award that can be applied to certain education expenses that never has to be repaid. You could win $1000 paid directly to the educational institution (college, university, trade, or vocational school) the recipient is attending to help with the cost of tuition, room and board, books, supplies, and other required fees.

  2. How can I be considered? Apply! You can find complete entry instructions on the application form.

  3. What is the deadline? Applications are being accepted through 11:59pm on May 24th, 2024 and winners will be announced early June, 2024.

  4. Who is eligible for this scholarship? The scholarship opportunity is open to all CSHIS seniors with a 2.0 GPA or higher, graduating in June of 2024. Up to five total scholarship awards will be given out.

  5. Do I have to demonstrate financial need to qualify? No. Scholarships are awarded based on your essay IDEAS and demonstrated growth and initiative. Financial status is not considered when the scholarship committee makes its decisions.

  6. I’m taking a gap year, can I still apply? Yes. The PTSA will grant deferrals on a case-by-case basis.

  7. How is the winner(s) determined? Your essay and application packet is your entry. Do you have IDEAS for a better CSHIS? Is your submittal clear, complete, and in line with the instructions? The scholarship committee will review all qualifying entries.
